15 Thread Colors in One Run

Six is where most print-on-demand embroidery stops. We hold 15 on the machine at once, so a full illustration goes on in a single run. You pick the colors, the count doesn't change your price.

Stitch Your Vision with
12×12 Embroidery

Up to 12″×12″ on apparel — the industry's largest embroidery area. Room for bold, intricate, full-chest artwork.

Same logo. Same garment. The difference is the lift.

Flat sits on the surface. 1.5mm gives a clean modern lift. 3.0mm gives bold streetwear depth. Same file, three finishes, and you pick.
Foam swallows fine text and thin lines, so those stay flat. Lift only the parts that should pop. Both stitch in one design.

FAQs about PODpartner Custom Embroidery Service

What is the minimum quantity order for embroidery service?
There is no minimum quantity requirement for embroidery services at PODpartner.
How long does the embroidery process take?
The timeline depends on whether your design needs digitization. Digitization typically takes 1–2 business days, with each revision requiring an additional 1–2 business days. Digitization is a one-time process, so only your first order with a new design needs this step. For production, 98% of orders complete within 48 hours. Combining DTG with embroidery won't extend your production time.
What are the stitch types of embroidery PODpartner offers?
PODpartner offers flat embroidery and 3D puff embroidery, and you can combine both in one design (mixed embroidery). Flat embroidery gives a smooth finish; 3D puff uses a foam base for a raised, dimensional effect — ideal for bold logos and lettering.
Does 3D puff embroidery cost extra?
Yes. A 3D surcharge of $0.98 per frame applies to any frame containing a 3D puff or mixed design. You can choose 1.5mm or 3.0mm foam thickness. It doesn't affect turnaround.
Can I combine 3D puff and flat embroidery in one design?
Yes. Mix flat and 3D puff freely within a single design. All 3D areas in the same frame share one thickness (1.5mm or 3.0mm).
Do you embroider caps?
Yes. We embroider baseball caps, snapbacks, and mesh caps in-house — front, back, and sides — with the same 15-color range. Cap and apparel embroidery are priced separately (see the Pricing table's Apparel / Headwear tabs).
Where can I place embroidery on a cap?
Caps support five positions: front, back (small or large), and left/right sides. Each position has its own included stitch count and max stitches — see the Headwear pricing table.
What products can I embroider?
PODpartner offers a wide range of clothing for custom embroidery, including custom embroidery shirts, pants, shorts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and more.
Is custom embroidery profitable?
Whether custom embroidery is profitable depends on many factors. With a well-defined niche, creative designs, competitive pricing, effective marketing, and a good fulfillment partner, you can make print-on-demand embroidery a profitable business. Partnering with a dependable provider like PODpartner ensures high-quality embroidery and greater design freedom, which can enhance customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Can I digitize my own photos for embroidery?
Yes. You can use specialized digitization software to create your own embroidery files, or purchase digitized files from various online sources. These can then be used for embroidery on our garments. Our Design Creator supports uploading DST files for your embroidery designs.
How much should I charge for custom embroidered garments?
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on the complexity and size of the design, the number of colors, your desired profit margin, and more. A good profit margin typically ranges from 30% to 50% for custom embroidery businesses.
How do you calculate the embroidery rate?
The rate is influenced by: (1) whether digitization is needed and the number of frames required; (2) membership discounts based on your level; (3) frame size and quantity; (4) stitch count, if the design exceeds the stitches included in the frame. To see specific pricing, check the current price in the lower-left corner of the Design Creator while designing.
